Sorry to everyone who has been checking our blog regularly. We have gotten very busy over the past few months and haven't been able to update it a lot. The next few pictures are just a few of the highlights of the past two months. We are sure there will be more soon as Addie is getting ready to crawl. Happy Thanksgiving in advance to everyone, we will probably have another update around that time!

End of Summer

What a summer we have had! Since Addison's baptism the fun has not stopped. The week after the baptism was dominated by Musikfest which we got to enjoy a handful of times. We tried to head down in the afternoons where stroller traffic was much more navigable than how packed it got at nights. The rest of the month has seen some perfect weather here in the Lehigh Valley so Addison has been spending lots of time swimming in the pool with Pops, as seen below. She really loves the water and generally lets us know when we take her out how displeased she is with us.

Last week we got the opportunity to head down to Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia to cheer on our Phillies. They were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks and beat them by a resounding score of 12-3. Addison was perplexed by how many people were in one place for a baseball game, but did not seem to mind the noise one bit. She fell asleep in the 1st inning only to wake up in about the 3rd. Every time the crowd cheered she looked confused, but never really cried. The weather was unfortunately disgusting with a high around 92 and lots of humidity so we were all very sweaty. Amy and Addie matched very well as seen in the picture below.

We went to this Phillies game with a bunch of friends, including Brian. He recently shaved his head and we could not help but notice how similar he and Addison look right now. This picture is good proof of that.

Last weekend Amy and Andrew were honored to become the Godparents of Amy's niece, Elizabeth Claire Dunn. Lizzie looked precious for her big day and the family was pleased to be there to support her. During the service 6 babies were baptized and as Amy and Andrew were tied up with Godparent;y duties, Addie was sitting with Aunt Megan and soon-to-be-Uncle Eric. Since there was an abundance of babies the priest looked excited to baptize any baby he could find and tried to re-baptize Addison. Once everything was cleared up the baptisms all went very smoothly. Lizzie and Addison look like they will become great friends as it will be helpful to have a cousin so close to the same age as she is.

On the school front, Amy was back to school this past week and Andrew starts this next week coming up. It is going to be a hectic semester for both of us but with all of your support we will get through it.

Given the hectic nature of our schedules, however, finding time to update the blog will be difficult, though we will try our best. If you want us to email you each time we update it please email us at a.a.giesler@gmail.com . We will make a mailing list and let you know each time a new post is up.

Addie's Baptism

Addison's baptism turned out to be a wonderful day. The weather was not the nicest for traveling to the church but the ceremony was beautiful and Addison was a little angel. The following are some pictures from the special day.

Aunt Megan and Uncle Kish were very proud godparents and mom and dad were very proud parents.

Grandparents, aunts and uncles and great grandparents were all very excited for her.


After the celebration was over Addie got to spend some quality time with her cousins (Will and Lizzie) and loved it!

Hello All!

We hope all has been well with you as it has with us.

Be prepared to save a date! Even though we have known for a while that we are getting married we have started to get into the real planning of the wedding. We have seen some halls and have appointments at a few more. We are not sure exactly when, but it we are looking into early June of 2010.

The 4th of July weekend was very exciting. We had great weather here and we took advantage of it. Amy's sisters came home, one with her husband and son, the other with her fiance. Getting with the family is always a good time and we were glad to see them all. The 4th also falls conveniently close to Kyle and Megan's birthdays, so we had a chance to celebrate them on Saturday with an excellent dinner of steak, lobster and shrimp and ice cream cake.

On Friday, the 3rd, we all went out to get Addison's pictures taken for the first time since she was in the hospital and we were very happy with the results. Here are some pictures...

Finally, to those of you who have checked this page often to find no updates, I apologize. It is sometimes difficult to find time to write a post. However, I have been all over Twitter. If you don't know what it is you should check it out. My Twitter name is aggiesler and I update it all the time from my phone. I found this program called "Twikini" which lets you post and read the people you follow very easily. If you have a Windows Mobile phone I would check it out. I already downloaded it for Martha to use. The website is http://www.trinketsoftware.com/Products.aspx . This is much easier for me to check so if you want lots of updates about our family, this would be the first place to look. Here is an example of what Twitter is...I hope to have many new followers soon.

Back from the Beach

Over the last weekend we all went with Amy's family down to Ocean City, Maryland for Addison's first beach experience. We left very early on Saturday morning, around 6:30, and made the 4 hour drive, according to Mapquest in about 4 1/2 hours, which is great considering we were travelling with a 3-week-old. We only made one stop in Delaware, amid pouring rain, to gas up and change a diaper.

Ocean City is always fun but it was hard to go and only stay for a few days. Our hotel/condo room was right on the beach on the first floor of a 4 story building. The backyard was a fenced in area of sand that was great for paddle ball and bocce ball. The first day we were there was mostly rainy, which was troubling to us as back in PA it had been raining the past two weeks.
Highlights of the trip were eating at Phillip's Seafood Buffet, where we really got our money's worth. Andrew had 5 plates of food, then dessert.

The next day was father's day and it was lots of fun. The weather was a lot better so we got to go to the beach for a long time. There was much bocce ball to be played and golf to be watched as the US Open was on. We went to the boardwalk and did some shopping, though we ended up only buying a shirt for Addison and some Dairy Queen/Orange Julius.

The beach weather on Monday, the day we left, was great and we spent most of the time we were there out in the sand. Addison did very well on the trip home as well, sleeping almost the entire 4 1/2 hours back home.
